The Sun that nourishes our planet is the same as ever. People born on this piece of land donned their costumes and walked in them, danced, played and sang - left a mark for all times. People have changed but only in relation to their costumes, their bodies, not in spirit. The Spirit that feeds our country, Macedonia, is the same today. We, who are aware of our ancestral spirit, proudly walk under one, for all the same sun, but are widely different from all the rest, because we carry within, that with which we were born, from which we can’t escape, with which we proudly walk forward and nurture our Vevcanski spirit, the Macedonian spirit.

Indeed, on this piece of land people have always danced, played music, sung, always from the heart, always with soul, always with dignity in the performance. People danced and sang at weddings and celebrations, convocations and holidays, harvesting in the fields, wedding parties at the Vevcani springs, the Vasilicari in the center of the village, the Vasilica girls in the houses ... Precisely these traditional forms of association caused by folklore and tradition, contributed to the formation of the first organized folklore association of the people of Vevcani back in 1947 and which participated on 11 October ceremony in Prilep and Bitola. There, this association receives the first official document, a diploma for participation, in which it is praised for its excellent performance.

Since then, it has never stopped beating the drum loudly playing the pipes, the dancers never stopped dancing, and people admiring their spirit and quality.

The folklore ensemble "Drimkol" was formed in 1973 under the name "Pecalbari" as an association of citizens, in which is combined the love, desire and enthusiasm for folklore of many young people in Vevcani, who by their enthusim, and with generous contribution of all people of Vevcani, equip the same with instruments and costumes, and in return, the association, by its serious and organized approach, firmly represent it on the Macedonian and world folk scene. In 1979, the association was named "Drimkol", and since then it continuously and actively has worked on fostering, developing and presenting of the performing arts, with a special emphasis and attention to folk activities.

These choreographies brought the association three gold plaques, one silver and one bronze, and it defined it as an association with distinctive characteristics. The Vevcani rich folk costume, traditional instruments, original choreography from the Vevcani region make this ensemble a unique, different from all others in Macedonia.
