They, who teach us, those who preserve the true Macedonian spirit and all traditions, and the never forgotten, memorable moments and big events, those who care most about the past through the history, present, and through all the shows created by this cultural association now, and for the future, through our children, are exactly those veterans. Those who are proudly seen when wearing their costumes and dancing on the sound of the drum, they are the true representatives of our country and our customs. They are the true light now for all that is done by the previous generations, for the sole purpose- to throw better light on our culture and our homeland.
That folk tradition of Vevcani has great significance for the village, shows the existence of a group called the VETERANS. Namely, after completion of an active work in the company, large number of its members continue to nurture and present the rich folklore by keeping their membership in this group. This group is a real evidence that in Vevcani, live and work artists – amateurs who with their high professionalism and responsibility for the tradition, despite all family obligations, worthy matches the task towards a highest goal- transmitting the tradition to their offspring.
The Folklore Association VETERANS runs continuously, taking part in the annual program of the concerts, as well as constantly participating in shows in the country and abroad.
In 2007, VETERANS of Drimkol were honored with its own program to open the Macedonian Cultural Center in Kranj, Slovenia, and, to perform at several events within the same tour. This is just one example of the serious and organized approach of the honest and responsible family people who want to do more for their homeland and for their country.
